Extending Portrait of the Boy in Red, he follows the trajectories of Socialist Lebanon and the Organization of Communist Action in Lebanon, along with the revolutionary hopes, intellectual debates, and political defeats that marked them. The result reads at once as a personal memoir and as an internal history of a Lebanese and Arab moment when politics was lived as an everyday condition rather than a purely theoretical position.
