Hungarian worker, Commune Delegate for Labor
Léo Frankel (1844–1896) was a Hungarian-born goldsmith and socialist who served as the Commune's Delegate for Labor and Exchange, making him one of the few non-French members of the Paris Commune government. He implemented progressive labor legislation, including the prohibition of night work in bakeries and workers' self-management of abandoned workshops. He later became a leader in the Hungarian socialist movement.
